Job Description
Spraying graffiti didn’t get you famous? Selling NFTs didn’t make you rich? AI taking over your job? Yet you still want to continue in the creative field? Cool — your determination deserves respect. Keep reading.
At Black Soup, we spend our day-to-day cooking up creator campaigns for the gaming industry. We have made it our mission to spread the word about that new game you’ve never heard of but will completely take over your life. Our weapon of choice: content creators. We don’t shy away from leveraging their influence in unique and creative ways to forge memorable moments for them and their communities.
We do so as a cohesive unit, relentlessly thriving for pragmatic creativity - ask about it during your interview - and operational excellence. We foster ambition and curiosity without forgetting our humble beginnings. We play video games until 2AM on a Tuesday and still show up locked and loaded the next morning to conquer the wild west of YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok.
Problem is, we’re often too busy cooking up creator campaigns for our clients to be working on our own branding. That’s where you come in!
We have the vision, now we’re looking for the designer - someone who can make us look good both in freeze frame as well as in full motion.
Warning! This position is not your usual job role. We are looking for a creative all-rounder who can take on both the strategical parts of marketing, as well as the execution thereof - and then some.
The details of your mission are as follows:
Represent the brand: Establish and elevate Black Soup’s visual guidelines, ensuring our brand looks sharp and cohesive across all internal and external touchpoints.
Drive our visual presence: Act as the artistic powerhouse driving our visual presence forward. Design eye-catching assets for our campaigns, pimp our pitch decks, and create slick showreels.
Develop our showroom: It’s your job to make our team and our work look good. Be it by crafting case studies, writing up newsletters to share our adventures with the world or spreading our knowledge in articles.
Weaponize social media: You’ve created the content, now you bring it to the masses and monitor its performance.
Master our merch: We’ve already created Black Soup stickers, pins, mugs, coasters, hoodies, shirts, socks, beanies, frisbees, puzzles, cocktails, … and the list goes on. We want moar, yet we need you to make sure our merch stands out and lasts.
Organise events: You’ll be working together with our sales and marketing team to manage our presence at events. Sometimes this may mean developing new business cards, other times it may mean organizing a full-blown dinner or mixer for our clients and partners.
Pick up a camera: On occasion, we may ask you to step out from behind your desk and get behind the lens. Whether it’s for a new team picture, recording a video case study, or supporting our creative campaign team with live productions.
Oof, that’s a lot. We know. Therefore, the artist we are looking for is:
Highly motivated: Where others see a wall, you see a way forward.
A creative allrounder: You can swap between graphic design, video editing and copywriting as if you have Sleight of Hand equipped. Aside from experience behind the screen, you have hands-on experience behind the lens for the occasional shoot.
Creator savvy: You have a proven understanding of the digital creator landscape, social media platform constraints and current visual tendencies across YouTube, Twitch and TikTok. In a past life you may have direct experience crafting assets for content creators, such as streaming overlays or social media assets for tournaments.
An effective communicator: You master the ability to read and write in English. You can pitch and defend your design choices flawlessly and handle creative differences like a boss.
Humble: While your creative ambition is high up in the sky, your ego is rooted firmly here on planet earth. You take constructive feedback as a tool to level up.
Gamer to the core: You play games for breakfast. If we don’t smell your gamer instinct on you, it’s not gonna work out.
Here’s what you can expect from us:
A Berlin office featuring lovely colleagues, a big gaming setup, summer BBQs, doggos and more mate and coffee than the human body can endure. But you can also work from home if you prefer.
An inclusive team culture where your voice is heard, your ideas are celebrated, and bad jokes are mandatory.
A long term job offer featuring a salary of €40-50k depending on your skill level. Add on to that a quarterly team bonus, more Steam keys than you can handle, Urban Sports, Jobrad, and an invite to our annual workcation week, typically somewhere sunny.
Think you got what it takes?
Send your portfolio, resume, and a brief introduction to hr@blacksoup.gg
PS: We welcome all kinds of people and expect the same from you.
